As choreographer some of Deb many professional and community theater credits included West Side Story, Music Man, Pippin, Jesus Christ Superstar, Pajama Game, Little Shop of Horrors, Jekyll and Hyde, Phantom, Damn Yankees, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, Fame, Oklahoma, Carousel, Grease, How to Succeed in Business, The Wiz, The Wizard of Oz, South Pacific, Annie, Annie Warbucks, Cats, Crazy For You, 8 Track Sounds of the Seventies and Naked Boys Singing.
She has had the privilege of working closely with professional Carl Schmehl since 1987 that has allowed her many opportunities to be behind the scenes at several productions including When Pigs Fly in the NY Douglas Fairbanks Theatre, Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular with the famous Rockettes, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
In 2006, after being invited to NY to see a production of 8 Track Sounds of the Seventies, Deb was given the exclusive rights to do original choreography for the NE production. This show had been touring since 2004 yet never choreographed; only musically staged.
Debra professional performance credits include appearing with Ray Chew, Diana Ross and The Jersey Boys in NYC, performing on the USS Intrepid, swing dancing at the opening of the tour Swing, the Musical at the Ogunquit Playhouse, On the Isle theater in Nantucket, a feature role in Haunted; a Ted Turner Production, and on stage with comedian Bob Marley.
Deb has performed from NY to Canada and regularly performs in the only New England female Latin combo dance trio the Salsa Angels. She has directed and choreographed shows for many service groups and fundraising events such as Rotary, SMMC, and The Starlight Foundation, as well as the National Guard. She also gives private and group lessons of any size in swing, Latin and ballroom to people wanting to cut a rug and burn the floor.
Deb is also choreographer for the Point Sebago Summer Resort; Encore at the Point, an accredited summer stock theater. She runs several Best of Broadway dance camps throughout NE and Canada and is a dance educator at many private and public schools.
Over the years Debra has trained with many professionals from all over the world in all genres including jazz with Gus Giordano, Eva Von Gensky and award-winning choreographer Adrienne T Hawkins, tap with Brenda Bufalino, ballet with Inga O’Neil, swing with London’s favorite Lindy Hoppers Jenny Thomas and Ryan Francois, salsa with Seemore Johnson and Christina Pujol of Costa Rica and Spain, and multiple ballroom and Latin dance champions. Deb has been asked choreograph as far away as Montreal and Switzerland and Los Angeles, CA.
